Brixtol Textiles Textile Art Scholarship '26
In 2022, we established a biennial scholarship for textile art β a space to support artistic exploration beyond the boundaries of fashion.
Every two years, a selected artist is awarded the scholarship and given the opportunity to create a unique body of work using deadstock fabrics from our production. The resulting work is showcased in Stockholm.
2026 Recipient: Alice Shulman
βPeripheral Emotionsβ
βPeripheral Emotionsβ is an exploration of material and emotion, where textile and glass meet in a series of nine installations.
Working across disciplines, Alice Shulman approaches textile as both structure and surface β allowing it to interact with glass in ways that highlight tension, fragility, and transformation.
Drawing from Brixtol Textilesβ archive of fabrics, each installation is centred around a distinct emotional state.
Through the meeting of soft and rigid materials, the works form an organic whole β a landscape shaped by contrasts, where transparency, weight, and movement coexist.
βI have been interested in how materials can carry and express emotion. In this project, I explore the relationship between glass and textile β two materials with very different properties β and how they can come together to create something both fragile and strong. Each installation represents a specific emotional state, but together they form a larger narrative about complexity and coexistence.β
